nico bolas, my co-producer in "the volume dealers," and L.A. Johnson producing. 5pm recording begins. songs recorded that
night are songs already written before the session started. They include at 6:34pm "after the garden" take 7, at 7:39 "living with war",
take 3, and at 9:42 "the restless consumer" take 1..............

mar 30 06...sessions continue at 12 noon with "shock and awe" takes 1- 6 no master, and at 2:20pm "families" take 5. Both songs
are written before mar 29 06 when the sessions started......

mar 31 06 at 1:06pm "flags of freedom" take 4, written that morning is recorded. tommy bray arrives that day from las vegas with his horns
and adds a trumpet to both "living with war" and "shock and awe"

apr 1 06...sessions continue.....12:15 pm "letsimpeach the president" take 1, written that morning, 4:06pm "looking for a leader" take 2
written that afternoon and at 9:02pm "roger and out" take 1, written that evening, all recorded in the same day.....

apr 2 06...sessions conclude with 1:31pm "shock and awe" take 8, re-cut for better performance. a trumpet is added to "lets impeach the president."
small single word corrections were made to lyrics...eg "it"has an ugly side to "she" has an ugly side (looking for a leader)...... All performances are live
with the exception of the trumpet overdub on two songs, "living with war" and "shock and awe"....however, the saturday apr 1 06 re-cut of
"shock and awe" includes a live trumpet performance. that is the cut we used.........

apr 5 06.....create arrangements for all 10 songs for 100 voice choir at capitol studios with darrell brown in LA......

apr 6 06...record 100 voices during 12 hours of union sessions at capitol recording studios LA......this is the same studio where frank sinatra performed
and recorded many of his big hits.....this is truely a day to remember...It is the most beautiful and rewarding dubbing session I have ever taken part in...
Those singers are awe inspiring . Session continues at 10:30pm "america the beautiful" take 2 . The pure soul and raw energy of 100 people singing
in real time cannot be simulated with layered overdubbing. It is magic....

First acoustic performnances played for the band and rough mixes without the choir will also be included in the dvd...due to the rushed nature of the
"living with war" cd, first editions contain no hidden tracks. A second cd with enhanced artwork and bonus tracks is being considered. The "living with war"
dvd has not yet entered production....sessions were recorded on 16 track analog tape and mixed to 1/2 inch analog two track master, then transferred
to hi resolution digital for cd and dvd manufacturing........

apr 24 06....jon nowland arrives in LA from redwood digital with assembled 1/2 inch analog masters to cut reference lacquer at bernie grundman
mastering in hollywood with engineer chris bellman......a single LP vinyl release cut from the original analog master tapes is to be released by
reprise records in cooperation with classic records on classic records 200 gram super vinyl profile per neil's direction.....anticipated may 06.

Evo še ene LP plošče iz preteklosti, katera je posneta v živo, seveda komercialna " pop" glasba iz 40-50- 60 let.

THE Billy Cotton Band Show- Wakey Wakey!! C5 513

Billy Cotton je umrl leta 1969 je bil legenda radio in TV showov. Plošča ponazaraja to živo dogajanje.

Na tej plošči so zapeti in zaigrani znani komadi iz mjuziklov in filmov, ki so nam v večini "manj znani", toda zelo poznani in popularni na "zahodu" predvsem med starejšo populacijo.

Toda plošča zveni zelo v živo in prepričljivo, čeprav je bila posneta leta 1961 in tisti, ki mislijo, da zveni staromodno, so pač navajeni agresivnih odprtih zvokov, ki naj bi zveneli bolj naravno kot kaj?

Ve?ina kritikov izbere kot album vseh ?asov to ploš?o alli pa Beatles- Sgt. Pepper's.... Komponist Brian Wilson je inštrumentalno inovativen ter originalne vokalne harmonije dajejo svojstven ton glasbi. Brez tega ne bi bilo: Beatli priznavajo vpliv te ploš?e. Enako velja za Dylana ter ostale....

9. Elvis Presley- Elvis Presley (1956)
Njegova prva ploš?a je bila tudi prikaz kako dobiti denar od najstnikov.Isto?asno so izdali singlico,4 kanalni EP ter album z enakim ovitkom, kjer se bohoti Elvis. Brez tega ne bi bilo Kralja,ne bi bilo popularnega rock&rola,ne prve ploš?e Beatlesov,ne pop * simbolov.

8. Bob Dylan- Bringing it All Back Home (1965)
Prvi folk rock album? Mogo?e, toda povezal je liriko in rock. S tem je Dylan izumil moderni rock.

7. Patti Smith- Horses (1975)
Kdo bi si mislil, da je punk štartala punca, ki je združila duh lirike Dylana , Keith Richardsa ter Rimbauda na New Yorški sceni. Brez tega ne bilo REM, PJ Harvey, Maddone,...

6. Marvin Gaye- What's Going On (1971)
Povezava med pravicami civilne družbe, ?rnskimi geti in Vietnamske vojne ter mo?ne ritmi?ne glasbe je postavila glasbo Motowna na lestvice. Brez tega ne bi bilo Stevie Wonderja ali Superfly ( Curtis Mayfield).

5. Robert Johnson- King of the Delta Blues Singers (1961)
Eric Clapton ga je opisal kot najbolj pomembnega blues pevca ,ki je kdajkoli živel. Ta ploš?a je vplivala na angleško blues sceno. Brez tega ne bi bilo: Rolling Stonsev, Led Zeppelinov.

4. NWA- Straight Outta Compton (1989)
Niggaz With Attitude je uporabil ameriško zahodno kulturo tolp, jo povezal s streli, sirenami, policijo in postavil temelje za gansterski rap. Brez tega ne bi bilo Eminem, 50 Cent, Dizzee Rascal.

3. Kraftwerk- Trans-Europe Express ( 1977)
Izšlo v ?asu viška punka- umirjena kulturna intelektualna glasba v povezavi z ameriškimi vplivi elektronske glasbe. Brez tega ne bi bilo techna, housa,Pet Shop Boys in ostalo.

2. The Beatles- Sgt Peper's Lonley Heareth Club Band (1967)
Povezal je pop glasbo z umetnostjo na nek višji kulturni nivo. Povzema šestedeta leta in daje rock glasbi svojo veli?ino. Brez tega bi bila pop glasba precej druga?na.

Naj bi bil najbolj vpliven rock album vseh ?asov. To je prvi rock- art album. Ovitek je naredil Andy Warhol( Olupek banane). Šokatna besedila,njujorška kultna z drogo nabita scena. Brez tega ne bi bilo Bowija, Roxy Music,Siouxsie and the Banshees, .....

da so pa Velvet Underground prvi je pa sploh ..... Na koga naj bi pa oni konkretno vplivali razen sami na sebe?

po moje manjka cel kup pomembnih skupin in izvajalcev, naprimer CCR in Suzi Q iz leta '67... ki pa sploh ni njihov ampak od D. Hawkinsa, (10 let prej) pa v njegovih komadih se sliši cel kup vplivom na kasnejše glasbenike. Pa recimo C. Berry-ja nih?e ne omenja pa....Kje so pa Angleške skupine iz šestdesetih, kot na primer Yardbirds, Cream, itd...


pa še cel kup kritik bi imel na ta spisek pa je škoda cajta.

No, ?lanek je precej obširen in razlaga zakaj tako in tako:

Izbor albumov je povzro?ila 50 letnica od prve Lestvice albumov

"Povdarek je na najbolj vplivnih albumih ,ki so kot svoj medij( ne koncerti ali glasbeniki) vplivali na ljudi in spreminjanje glasbe. Na album, ki ga je vsak ljubitelj glasbe pri?akoval in je bil izid albuma dogodek sam po sebi. Poslušanje albumov, debatiranje o vsebini, ob?udovanje ovitkov, kajenje trave , seks, zbiranje ploš? je bilo dogajanje. Zato ima med drugim tudi analogija še takšno nostalgijo. Danes: pa downloudaš svoj najljubši MP3 komad v telefon!

Albumi so izbrani po tem, kako oni mislijo, da je to vplivalo na pop glasbo- ne vedno na boljše, ter zaradi katerih ne bi obstojalo veliko glasbenikov ali celo tipov glasbe. Zelo težko je bilo izbrati samo 50 ploš?.

Zakaj smo izbrali NWA in ne Public Enemy? Verjetno zato, ker je bil vpliv NWA mo?nejši. Zakaj smo izbrali Fairport Convention in ne Incredible String Band? Zato, ker smo morali izbrati najbolj vpliven angleški bend.
Zakaj ni Rolling Stonsov? Zato, ker so briljantno uporabili že uveljavljene glasbene forme brez prikaza nekaj novega.

Ve?ina se z našim izborom ne bo strinjala.

ma vse skupaj se mi zdi eno nakladanje enih kvazi poznavalcev ki pišejo za 13-16 letno publiko.

naprimer tale je ena boljših:

Paul Simon izdal prvo plato leta 64... ustvarjal cel kup hitov ki so po svoje vplivali na popularno glasbo... In potem se ozira kaj delajo Talking heads Pa tudi ta plata (graceland)se mi ne zdi hudo pomembna za zgodovino. Pa še cel kup neumnosti je s katerimi se ne strinjam.

Se pa jaz osebno nebi upal naredit (in niti ne mislim da sem dovolj strokoven da bi naredil) lestvice kaj je najbolj vplivalo na popularno glasbo druge polovice (sedaj že) prejšnjega stoletja.

Bolj zanimivo bi bilo narediti spisek kdo je na koga vplival in brez razvrstitev po številkah.

David Bowie začne svojo karijero (in ime) leta 1966 z ploščo... Dawid Bowie :roll: slaven pa rata šele ob izidu Ziggy Stardust leta 1972. Nekako se mi zdi da je imel fant že prej jasno začrtano karijero.

Pred letom 66 je pa nastopal kot David Jones na ene par posnetkih. Sorazmerno star možakar. :lol:

Očitno nekaj ne vem da ne vidim nobene povzave z Velvet undreground. Isto tako mi ni jasno kako so vplivali na Brian Ferry-ja & Roxy music

Ena od spregledanih glasbenic je tudi Big Maybelle ki je leta 1955 izdala: Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On'... s katero je kasneje uspel Jerry Lee Lewis.

Izvedba je sicer druga?na od Lewisove, ampak o?itno da je vplivala na njega in da je s tem spremenila popularno glasbo ki jo poznamo danes.
